Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated Singapore’s close coordination in creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese citizens living and studying in Singapore during the COVID-19 outbreak; suggested that Singapore share with Vietnam experience in applying high technology in tracing, rapid testing and treatment; cooperate in accessing safe and effective vaccines. The Prime Minister welcomed Singapore’s proposal to establish a Working Group to discuss mutual recognition of vaccine certificates to facilitate travel and gradually resume commercial flights when conditions permit.
Singapore’s Foreign Minister thanked the attention and direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; affirmed to actively promote areas and issues of interest to Vietnam, including trade economy, investment, digital economy, as well as cooperation in pandemic response and vaccine access.
Regarding the East Sea issue, the Foreign Minister affirmed that Singapore attaches great importance to ensuring peace, stability, security, freedom of navigation and overflight in the East Sea, and a rules-based order, including the Convention. Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982.
